Summer Art Contest for Kids June 5 - August 19
On June 5 during First Friday, Brooke Pottery will kick off our 2009 Holiday Ornament Contest for Kids in grades K -12. The competition is open all summer long with a deadline of August 19. Entry forms are available at Brooke Pottery or on our website. The winning design will be featured on a 3" pottery ornament handcrafted by The Potters. The young artists behind the top three designs will be awarded savings bonds - $100 bond for first place, $50 bond for second, and $25 bond for third. Winning designs will be announced and awards presented on September 4 in the shop during the First Friday activities.
New to our handcrafted jewelry collection are contemporary silver necklaces and earrings with interchangeable glass marbles. The sterling silver and bronze tension settings are handcast using the lost wax process, and both necklaces and earrings come with a bag of colorful glass marbles. Change the color with your mood, or coordinate with your outfit each day - using just one versatile and stylish accessory. Necklace pendants come with a black leather cord, but also look wonderful on sterling silver chains.
